About
A small firm of engineers who build things end to end
Coyote Technology Group is a Northern California engineering firm. Our disciplines are computer engineering, software engineering, information technology, artificial intelligence, and electrical engineering — every layer of a modern system from the circuit board to the cloud. We do not do civil, mechanical, or structural work, and we will tell you plainly when a problem belongs to someone else.
How we work
Scope honestly
Fixed-price where the work is well defined, time-and-materials where it is not, and a written statement of work either way. We would rather lose a bid than win the wrong one.
Ship in increments
Working software early and often, with the customer in the loop. No eighteen-month big-bang deliveries.
Document and hand over
Runbooks, architecture records, and training so that your staff — or your next vendor — can run what we built. We do not build lock-in.
Secure and accessible by default
NIST-aligned engineering practices and WCAG 2.1 AA conformance are part of our definition of done.
Leadership
John Cooper
Founder & Principal Engineer · Software, infrastructure & electrical engineering
Software and infrastructure engineer with a foundation in electrical engineering (power systems). Prior roles include principal engineer at a Fortune 500 information-services company, architecting zero-downtime deployment infrastructure and leading applied-AI work for a fraud-analytics product group, and product-development and automation engineering at a global semiconductor manufacturer, building factory-floor hardware validation and global Linux infrastructure.
Disciplines: distributed systems, DevSecOps, machine learning and LLM workflows, PCB design and embedded firmware, power distribution and SCADA. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed.
Engineering team
Coyote Technology Group delivers through a small group of senior software, IT, AI, and electrical engineers engaged per project, so every engagement is staffed with the specific disciplines it needs rather than a bench of generalists.
Representative prior work is on the Experience page.
